| Title: "Woman in Thought" I was inspired by a photograph in a newspaper of an African American woman sitting on a sofa. Her far away gaze held such an infinite array of possibilities. There was the full range of human emotions, and reflections on the past and imaginings for the future. I enjoyed the idea of her thoughts being visible hieroglyphs outside of her body, since our thoughts do go out into the world and perform their own deeds, create their own history. For better or for worse! We never know where our thoughts might end up once we release them as words and actions.
