I was wanting to make a geometric painting with undulating lines, and to have gradations moving through the accompanying spaces. I wanted to play with the different kind of forms that would occur within these shapes. I originally wanted to name this piece BioGeometry, because I like to combine words in my titles, and I wanted to combine two words that represented both biologic and geometric concepts. But when I researched this term I found this interesting science about Earth's energy so I instead named it "Geometric Rhythms" because music of course contains both, and I find that my paintings with curving and interacting lines often suggest musical structures.
